My mother-in-law was in Mayberry Gardens for a week and a half before we found out that she had cancer and needed greater care. They don’t have nurses on staff, but that was stated in the pricing. It was well laid out, which is one of its positive attributes. It looked good, like there was going to be some good activities, and the patient to caregiver ratio was good. Most active retirement communities allow their residents to have pets for the fact that they can take care of them by themselves.
I couldn't have hoped for a better place than Mayberry Gardens. They treat my dad with great care and respect. Not like some places that ignore those they should be caring for.

That means that you and the other residents are the focus of each of our caring staff members. With only 11 residents in each home, our staff can really provide a personal level of care. Our residents grow close to our staff and call them friends, not caregivers. We had a very good experience with the community and my loved one being here. Medication management is one of the care that my loved one is receiving assistance with.
Jerri always makes sure they have something warm and yummy to eat. We have 11 residential homes and each home is designed to accommodate 11 residents. Just like your own home, each Mayberry Gardens home has a kitchen, living room, dining room, and laundry room along with 11 private bedrooms and bathrooms for the residents. It is not somewhere I would want my parent to be. We went over their activities, and they change daily; they have different ones. I wouldn't recommend it; it is too small.

I met the lady who was getting ready to do the cooking, I met the housekeeper, I met several of the people in the house, and they were all very, very nice.

My dad is in the memory care of Mayberry Gardens. I love the general appearance of the place. It has five homes, and there are 15 people in each home. They have a kitchen, an activities/dining table, and a sitting area up front with a TV and a piano. People play the piano occasionally and entertain. They have Dominoes, Bingo, concerts, and movies.
Residents at Mayberry Gardens have as much independence as they want with the knowledge that personal care and support services are available, if and when they are needed. Assisted living, however, differs from nursing homes in that medical services are not provided and the environment is much more homelike. Mayberry Gardens is a beautiful, intimate community that feels like home when you walk through the door. The staff is very friendly and are often seen interacting with and assisting residents as they walk from building to building.

The facility and the grounds are nice, The living spaces were better than other places I had seen. The employees seemed to really care for those staying there. The rooms were nice and everyone has their own rooms. I will probably be using the facility to house my in-laws in the future. Our dining program is centered on home-style foods that residents would have eaten at home.
At Mayberry Gardens in Garland, we offer worry free and affordable pricing and there are no levels of care. When you choose Mayberry Gardens all care is included in the price. Visited last week and I loved the environment and the activity director was so helpful. House 3 has been good to my family member. I'd even say she might be spoiled with love.

When the residents visit one another or come for the first time, they aren't walking into a facility but into a home. Mayberry Gardens has a very warm, home like feel. It's very unique with the single story homes on their property. I would encourage anyone to drop by for a visit. Mayberry Gardens is the perfect place for your loved one who needs assisted living. My Mother-in-law is a resident and is well taken care of.
